About me

Anja Smolarz , a contemporary painter living and working in her home studio in Świnoujście.

The harsh seaside landscape and numerous explorations of the lakes and meadows around the family home became the greatest inspiration for the artist's works.

Her multi-layered, spatial landscapes carry a poetic intensity of color, and their composition is a harmonious combination of luminosity and subtle darkness.

Using color and glaze, Anja imbues her paintings with an atmosphere of mystery and a certain melancholy, evoking a wide range of emotions. Her works are largely landscapes, suspended between reality and dream.

She creates her paintings by repeatedly applying and removing thin layers of paint, which gives her works depth and spatiality.

She has exhibited and collaborated with international art galleries in Italy, Spain, and Germany, and her paintings have been exhibited in Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Genoa, Florence, Berlin, and Rome. Her work has also appeared in the fifth edition of the Italian contemporary art catalog "Artists of Today and Tomorrow."
